Why more than one session is needed
Hair goes through three growth phases, and the laser is most effective during the active growth phase (anagen), when the follicle is richest in pigment. Since only a portion of hairs on any zone are in that phase at any given time, a single session can't reach every follicle β which is why a series of treatments at set intervals is needed.
How many sessions are typically needed
For most zones and hair types, between 6 and 8 sessions are needed, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. The face and hormonally sensitive zones sometimes require a slightly longer protocol, while zones with coarser, darker hair (legs, underarms, bikini) often respond faster.
| Face and neck | 6β8 sessions |
| Underarms and bikini | 6β8 sessions |
| Arms and legs | 6β8 sessions |
| Back and body | 8+ sessions |
When you'll see the first result
Most clients notice sparser, finer hair after the second or third session. The full effect of the series is only assessed at the end of the recommended protocol, since each session targets the hairs that happened to be in their growth phase at that time.
What the number of sessions depends on
- Hair type and density β coarser, darker hair tends to respond faster.
- Hormonal factors β hormone-sensitive zones may need additional sessions.
- Consistency in keeping the intervals between appointments.
- Following the preparation and aftercare guidelines.
